Henneman String Quartet
Founded in 1993, is an improvising string ensemble which combines
contemporary composition with an essential element of improvisation. Its
music is informed by the major trends in the 20th century notated music as
well as by diverse genres like pop, jazz and classical. Ig Henneman's
compositions draw also much inspiration from poetry of different languages
and cultures.
The string quartet released the CD's 'Pes' (1999) and 'Piazza Pia' (2002)
on the Wig label.
The Henneman String Quartet has performed in the Netherlands, Germany,
Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Canada and Russia.

Henneman began leading her own groups showcasing improvisers and her own
compositions in 1985. As a violist she focuses mainly on her string
quartet, on a duo with Ab Baars cl/ts and on the Canadian/Dutch group The
Queen Mab Trio. Her pieces are totally scored or written as a
startingpoint for improvisation.
Ig Henneman wrote compositions for groups like Orchestra de Volharding,
the Metropole Orchestra, the Nieuw Ensemble, the Ig Henneman Tentet and
The Queen Mab Trio. Her recent compositions are 'Daikem Nya' for male
chorus and the Residentie Orchestra, 'Tratti per Arpa' for harpist

Wilbert de Joode contrabass
Amsterdam the Netherlands 1955
His individual style and musicality transforms the double bass into an
equal partner in the most varied ensembles. A personal tone colour,
exploration of the outer registers, idiosyncratic improvisations and the
use of gut strings contribute to an instantly recognisable and intriguing
sound. Wilbert de Joode is active in the Ab Baars Trio, the Eric Boeren
4tet, Bik Bent Braam, Bentje Braam, Trio Fuhler/Bennink/DeJoode, the Chris
Abelen Quintet and Intermission. He plays solo concerts, duo with Tobias
Delius and works with dance improvisers. A list of other musical partners
include: Mats Gustafsson, Steve Lacy, Roswell Rudd, The Ex, Misha
Mengelberg, Sunny Murray, John Tchicai, Fred Frith and Paul Lovens

Godelieve Schrama harp
Leiden the Netherlands 1969
With Godelieve Schrama the harp makes an energetic entry into the
twentyfirst century. She shows what the harp as a solo instrument is
capable of and by doing so succeeds in surprising the most sophisticated
ears. Her repertoire is varied and colourful. She places her instrument
just as convincingly against a baroque background as she does in a wholly
contemporary context. Godelieve Schrama, who once said that she 'just
wanted to see what she could get out of the instrument, experienced in the
past years a grateful audience and a quick succession of domestic and
foreign music prizes, including the highest award given to musicians by
the Dutch state. The English professional press praised her 'sharp
characterizing' and her 'almost virile style'. Dutch critics called her
playing 'astounding', 'masterly' and 'exciting'.
